Oggi rescues rocks from under water. In every body of water he encounters – pond, lake or ocean – he immerses his head in up to 8 to 12 inches of water and searches for rocks – not pebbles but large rocks. When he finds a rock that “needs saving,” he digs it up and brings it to shore. He lies down beside the poor rock and wraps his body around it or cradles it between his paws, until he and the rock have recovered. Then he goes diving for another suffering rock. Sometimes I have to coax the poor, desolate rock from him and surreptitiously hide it nearby or return it somewhere near its original watery haven.
